Deputy General Manager | Yentai, Peoples Republic of China
Deputy General Manager
'The World Leader in Synthetic Wine Closures' is seeking a dynamic
leader to join their start-up management team as Deputy General Manager in
Yantai, Peoples Republic of China. This position has direct
responsibility for the company's operations, budget and P&L performance.
Our client manufactures co-extruded wine closures that replicate the
positive qualities of natural cork while providing substantial
advantages in cost, standardization and expanded performance attributes to small
and large wineries. These advantages have been further enhanced by meeting
the standards of more internationally recognized certifications than any
other synthetic wine closure company in the world.
Today our client produces over one billion closures annually and sells
its products in 40 countries from manufacturing facilities in the United
States, Europe and most recently Yantai, PRC. The Yantai facility was
added in 2007 and the company is now well positioned to pursue an
aggressive expansion strategy within the Chinese wine industry. This
position reports to the Chief Representative (President). Direct reports
include the Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Accounting/Administrative Manager.
Requirements:
- University degree and MBA required
- 10 years experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment
- Must speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and English
- Proven ability to manage sales process with Chinese customers and
organizations
- Experience running manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage a rapidly growing businesses
- Management experience with an international company
- Track record of improving operating efficiencies through continuous
improvement methods (e.g. Six Sigma)
- Prior industrial general management role with P&L responsibility
- Understanding of conducting business in Asia, particularly China, as
well as the Western world.
